Rodrigo Gil is co-leader of the International Arbitration and National Arbitration practice areas at BMAJ.
He is an expert in contract law and has over 20 years of experience in conflict resolution of contracutal disputes under international commercial arbitration rules (ICC, UNCITRAL, SCC, AAA, CAM Santiago), and in ad-hoc arbitrations as well as national arbitrations in Chile.
He also has extensive experience as a lead counsel in numerous investment disputes under ICSID rules, defending both investors and states; and is a permanent advisor in complex cross-border disputes and in transnational litigation.
Rodrigo is an expert in large-scale construction disputes (bridges, airports, power plants, mining infrastructure, and roads, among others) and regularly advises national and foreign clients in disputes relating to the energy, mining, construction, infrastructure and telecommunications industries, among others. He also defends clients in antitrust disputes, complex civil conflicts and in litigation procedures relating to arbitration.
In addition to his practice as a litigator, Rodrigo also regularly acts as an arbitrator, and he is professor of Civil Law at the Universidad de Chile.
Finally, Rodrigo is strongly committed to facilitating public access to justice, acting regularly in pro bono litigation cases.
